Often appearing on older bottles from the 1970s and 1980s, the name Minuto Luigi represents a classic era of small, local family producers who contributed significantly to the area's wine culture before the international Nebbiolo wave began. The wine was bottled by the producer at the origin, and the label proudly bears the motto "Il Principe dei Vini," translating to "The Prince of Wines."

The wine originates from the prestigious Barbaresco Denominazione di Origine Controllata, located in the Langhe hills east of Alba. Piedmont, which literally translates to "at the foot of the mountain," is renowned for its dramatic, steep hills that are often enveloped in thick autumn morning fog, providing a long and perfect ripening period for the grapes. The 1971 vintage is recognized as a classic year with depth and finesse, achieving a score of 94 points. This specific vintage captures a piece of Barbaresco history from a time when traditional producers, likely operating out of the core communes of Treiso or Neive, crafted wines from small parcels primarily for the local community.

Made entirely from Nebbiolo, an Italian top grape celebrated for producing elegant wines with great structure, this wine reflects the deep terroir focus characteristic of Piedmont's passionate family wineries. Nebbiolo is the exclusive grape used for the renowned wines of both Barbaresco and Barolo, with Barbaresco often considered the elegant counterpart. Cultivated in these historic areas, the grape thrives in the local microclimate, resulting in a classic expression of the region's traditional winemaking.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0646/3478/1950/files/generated-1509_8368cdc6-de1f-4326-a858-64643dbaeb0f.jpg?v=1790933274
