Situated by the Atlantic Ocean, Bordeaux has been exporting wine since the Middle Ages, and its legendary 1855 classification continues to rank the area's leading châteaux. The 2009 vintage in this historic region achieved a score of 99 points and is described as rich, ripe, and almost perfect.

This wine holds the Appellation Bordeaux Supérieur Contrôlée classification. Established in 1943, this regional AOC covers the entire Bordeaux area and requires stricter production rules than the basic Bordeaux AOC. These regulations mandate lower yields, a higher minimum alcohol content, older vines, denser planting, and at least nine months of aging. The Bordeaux Supérieur area spans approximately 12,400 hectares. While the left bank of the Gironde is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon grown on gravel soils, the right bank is the traditional domain of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Château de Haux is located in Haux within the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, on the right bank of the Garonne River, south of Bordeaux city. The estate holds a unique position in the local landscape, having been owned by the Danish Jørgensen family since 1989. This rare constellation makes it one of the very few Danish-owned classic Bordeaux estates. The property spans 50 hectares, and its red wines are typically crafted as a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, following the classic right-bank tradition.

Designated as a "Reserve des Proprietaires," this specific 2009 release was bottled directly at the estate for the co-owners. It is presented as a Grand Vin de Bordeaux with an alcohol content of 13.5%.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0646/3478/1950/files/generated-1496_bda038a8-3127-40dd-a4d5-fb61a5d3a304.jpg?v=1790932442
