The estate has historical ties to Armand du Plessis, the Duke of Richelieu, a prominent figure in eighteenth-century France who originally used the château as a hunting lodge. Today, the property encompasses 17 hectares of vineyards.

The wine originates from Bordeaux, a globally renowned region on the Atlantic coast that has been exporting wine since the Middle Ages and is famous for its elegant blends. Specifically, it comes from Moulis-en-Médoc, the smallest commune appellation in the Médoc, located on the Left Bank in the central Haut-Médoc west of Margaux. The area stretches inland from the Gironde estuary, featuring an oceanic climate and some of the finest quartz gravel banks over clay-limestone, which provide excellent drainage and heat retention. The 1986 vintage from this area achieved a score of 89 points and is characterized as tight and classic.

This wine is crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. On the Left Bank, Cabernet Sauvignon traditionally dominates the gravel soils. It is complemented by Merlot, a classic blue grape widely cultivated in Bordeaux, as well as in California, Washington, and Northern Italy. Following the harvest, the wine is aged for one and a half years in oak barrels, securing its Appellation Moulis Contrôlée classification.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0646/3478/1950/files/3F38DE79-6AFD-4465-BCC4-2AD3F881145C.jpg?v=1792572475
