Holding the Appellation Premières Côtes de Bordeaux Contrôlée, this wine features a distinctive coat of arms on its label bearing the inscription "LILIA SOLA REGVN LVNAM VNDAS CASTRA LEO NEM". Following traditional methods, the wine was aged in oak barrels and bottled directly at the estate.

Bordeaux, situated by the Atlantic Ocean, is globally recognized for its historic wine production dating back to the Middle Ages. The Premières Côtes de Bordeaux appellation forms a narrow, 60-kilometer belt along the right bank of the Garonne River, stretching from Bassens in the north down to Saint-Maixant. The vineyards are primarily planted on slopes that look directly across the river toward the renowned Graves and Sauternes areas.

The region benefits from a temperate maritime climate, where the proximity to the Garonne River provides a stabilizing effect on temperatures. The varied terroir consists predominantly of clay, limestone, gravel, and marl, with the elevated, well-drained slopes offering highly favorable growing conditions. The 2000 vintage is noted as a full-bodied year for the area, earning a score of 96 points.

Officially established in 1937, the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux appellation originally encompassed both red and white wines. During a restructuring of Bordeaux's classification system in 2009, the area's red wines were transferred to the broader Côtes de Bordeaux designation. Consequently, older vintages like this one from 2000 represent a specific historical period when the original appellation name was still applied to the region's red wines.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0646/3478/1950/files/generated-1700_df6c4d11-345f-4c13-aca4-2f58848c81a4.jpg?v=1792585660
