What are vintage wines?
Vintage wines are wines made from grapes that were all harvested in the same year – the vintage shown on the label. Each vintage reflects the weather and growing conditions of that particular year, which is why two vintages of the same wine never taste exactly alike.
At Bottles With History you will find vintage wines from many decades and from some of the world's best-known wine regions, such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Bordeaux and Burgundy. Use the filters above to sort our vintage wines by vintage, country, wine type and price.
Vintage wines as a gift
A vintage wine from a specific year is a personal gift: a bottle from the birth year for a milestone birthday, from the wedding year for an anniversary, or from the year a company was founded.
Use the vintage finder at the top of the page to find vintage wines from exactly the year you are looking for – or browse our selection for a 30th birthday, 40th birthday, 50th birthday and 60th birthday.
How to store and serve vintage wines
Older vintage wines need a little care. Store the bottle lying down, in the dark and at a steady temperature, and ideally let it stand upright for a day before opening so that any sediment can settle.
Fill level, cork and label can vary from bottle to bottle with older vintage wines. Please look at the photos of each bottle, and feel free to contact us if you have questions about condition or serving.
