UNIQUE ADVENT CALENDAR - 4 MATURE WINES + OPENER
An advent calendar with history, incl. vintage corkscrew
This year we count down to Christmas with four bottles, each of which has waited decades to be opened. Every advent calendar is put together from four unique vintage wines from our cellar, so no two boxes are the same. You won’t know what’s inside until you open the bottles, but you can be sure that every single one has been chosen with care.
Order by Monday 23 November at the latest to be sure you receive your parcel before the first Sunday of Advent on 29 November.
How it works
The box contains four mature wines, one for each Sunday of Advent: 29 November, 6 December, 13 December and 20 December. The box also includes our vintage corkscrew, an Ah-So, which is the right tool for opening older bottles with fragile corks, along with our guide to getting the most out of old wines.
Pictures 2–4 show examples of some of the gems going out in this year’s advent calendars.

What can you expect on the nose and palate?
Over the years, the fresh fruit steps into the background and the wine develops the mature nuances that only come with long ageing: dried fruit, leather, tobacco, forest floor and spices. The tannins soften, and the wine often becomes more elegant.
Every bottle has lived its own life, so no two are alike. Some are ready from the first glass, others need time to open up. Taste as you go and follow how the wine develops – that is a big part of the experience.
A gift out of the ordinary
The advent calendar is the perfect gift for the wine lover who has tried most things – or a reason for four cosy Sundays with family and friends in the run-up to Christmas.

How it handles
you your wine
Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
