Alfiera 1992 from Marchesi Alfieri
The history of the wine
Below, you can delve into the history of this wine — its producer, grape, area, and region.
March
Marche is often called "the new Tuscany" because the landscape is characterized by the same beautiful, rolling hills, but with the great advantage that the region has direct access to the sea. Geographically, it is a series of valleys running perpendicularly from the Apennine Mountains in the west down to the coast in the east. This is where the white Verdicchio and the red Rosso Conero (Montepulciano/Sangiovese) are at home.
Da denne vin blev lavet, så verden meget anderledes ud. Her er nogle af de historier, der udspillede sig, mens denne flaske stille ældes i sin kælder.

Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and 70% humidity. Avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations. A wine that has aged for 40 years deserves stable conditions until opening.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening, so that the sediment settles. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully. An old cork is fragile — turn slowly. Immediately decant into a wide Burgundy carafe.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C in a large red wine glass. Decanting for at least 2 hours is recommended — vintage wines from 1985 are at their peak and will open up beautifully with time. Drink within 4–6 hours of opening.
