Bordeaux Côtes de Francs Château Pelan Bellevue 1995
The 1995 Château Pelan Bellevue is an estate-bottled wine from the Bordeaux Côtes de Francs appellation in France. Produced under the ownership of Régis Moro, this wine originates from a vintage that achieved a score of 91 points and is characterized as mature and balanced.
Bordeaux Côtes de Francs, officially known as Francs Côtes de Bordeaux since 2009, is one of the smallest appellations in the region. Located in the northeastern tip of Bordeaux between Saint-Émilion and the Dordogne border, it forms the easternmost part of the regional Côtes de Bordeaux appellations, encompassing the villages of Francs, Saint-Cibard, and Tayac. The area is recognized as an underrated source of Saint-Émilion style Bordeaux wines.
Situated further from the Atlantic Ocean than other Bordeaux appellations, the area experiences a slightly more continental climate with warmer summers and colder winters. The vineyards are planted on well-draining clay and limestone soils, which particularly favor Merlot. In this Right Bank territory, Merlot is the dominant grape, often supplemented by Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec, continuing Bordeaux's long-standing tradition of producing elegant blend wines.

Bordeaux
Bordeaux on the Atlantic is the world's most famous wine region and has been exporting wine since the Middle Ages. The legendary 1855 classification still ranks the area's leading châteaux. On the left bank of the Gironde, Cabernet Sauvignon dominates on gravel soils, while the right bank is the domain of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
