Château Latour-Laguens presents this 2000 vintage red wine, bottled directly at the estate with an alcohol content of 12.5%. The year 2000 achieved a score of 96 points and is recognized as a full-bodied vintage in the region. The wine's character is notably shaped by the maritime climate and the influence of the nearby Atlantic Ocean, which plays a significant role in the local terroir.
The wine holds the Appellation Bordeaux Supérieur Contrôlée classification. Established in 1943, this regional AOC covers the entire Bordeaux area but enforces stricter production regulations than the basic Bordeaux appellation. These requirements include lower crop yields, higher minimum alcohol levels, older vines, denser planting, and a mandatory production process that involves at least nine months of aging. The appellation spans approximately 12,400 hectares and is traditionally focused on blends dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, often supplemented by Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and occasionally Carmenère.

Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.

Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
