Bruno Giacosa - Tasting box
Bruno Giacosa – Three decades in Piedmont
Experience three different sides of Piedmont through one of the region’s most iconic producers: Bruno Giacosa.
This tasting case brings together three wines from the same producer, but from different vintages and with very different expressions. From classic Nebbiolo in Barbaresco to the more immediate Dolcetto, you get the opportunity to experience both the development through the decades and the range of Bruno Giacosa’s wine production.
The case contains:
Barbaresco Bruno Giacosa 1988 White Label
A mature Barbaresco based on Nebbiolo from one of Piedmont’s classic vintages. After almost four decades in bottle, the wine has developed the tertiary aromas that make old Nebbiolo so fascinating – dried flowers, ripe red berries, spices, forest floor, and truffle.
Barbaresco Bruno Giacosa 1999 White Label
11 years younger, but still with more than 25 years of development in bottle. Here you again get Nebbiolo and Barbaresco, making it possible to compare two vintages from the same producer directly. A wine with structure, elegance, and classic notes of cherry, roses, and truffle.
Dolcetto d'Alba Bruno Giacosa 2003
The youngest and different element of the case. Dolcetto shows a different side of Piedmont than the structured Nebbiolo wines. More immediate fruit, softer tannins, and dark berries provide an exciting contrast to the two Barbaresco wines.
A tasting through almost three decades
What makes this case special is the opportunity to taste three wines from the same producer with 1988, 1999, and 2003 respectively as the starting point. Two different grape varieties, two Barbaresco vintages, and almost 15 years of difference between the oldest and youngest wine.
This makes the case ideal for a tasting with friends, for the curious wine enthusiast, or as a special gift for someone who wants to experience how historic wine develops over time.

How it handles
you your wine
Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
