Chianti Melini 1981
Chianti Melini 1981 er en rødvin fra Toscana i Italien, fremstillet af Antica Casa Vinicola Cav. A. Laborel Melini. Vinhuset blev grundlagt i 1705 af Adamo Melini i Poggibonsi, beliggende mellem Firenze og Siena i det område, der senere blev til Chianti Classico-appellationen. Dette gør Melini til et af Italiens ældste vinhuse i kontinuerlig drift og en central aktør i Chiantis historiske udvikling.
Et af husets mest bemærkelsesværdige bidrag til den italienske vinkultur fandt sted i 1860, hvor de designede den karakteristiske kuglerunde Chianti-flaske, kendt som en 'fiasco', med et strågardin omkring bunden. Dette praktiske design beskyttede flaskerne under transport på et tidspunkt, hvor jernbanenetværket begyndte at åbne for eksport af italiensk vin til fjernere markeder. I dag er Melini ejet af Gruppo Italiano Vini, som er Italiens største vinkoncern.
Vinen er klassificeret som Denominazione di Origine Controllata og er baseret på Sangiovese, som er en italiensk hoveddrue. Druen er særligt udbredt i regioner som Toscana, Umbrien og Emilia Romagna samt i Californien. Årgang 1981 i Toscana har opnået en score på 79 point og beskrives som elegant og klassisk. Denne udgave er en magnumflaske på 1500 ml med en alkoholprocent på 11,8 %, aftappet af Chianti Melini i Gaggiano.
