Côtes de Bergerac Château Le Raz 1990
The 1990 Château Le Raz is a French wine from the Côtes de Bergerac appellation. It carries the official Appellation Côtes de Bergerac Contrôlée classification and is presented with an alcohol volume of 13 percent.
Côtes de Bergerac is situated within the expansive Sud-Ouest region in southwestern France, an area geographically defined by its position between Bordeaux, the Dordogne, Toulouse, and the Pyrenees. Sud-Ouest encompasses a multitude of smaller wine districts, offering a wide variation in climate and soil conditions. The landscape varies significantly, featuring everything from cool vineyards near the mountains to warmer valleys along the Garonne, Lot, Tarn, and Dordogne rivers.
The region is recognized for its diverse selection of local grape varieties. Prominent blue grapes grown throughout Sud-Ouest include Malbec, Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Fer Servadou. White varieties such as Colombard, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, Mauzac, and Len de l’El are also widely cultivated. In addition to Bergerac, the region is home to several other well-known appellations, including Cahors, Madiran, Gaillac, Jurançon, Fronton, and Irouléguy.
