Bordeaux, situated along the Atlantic coast, is the world's most famous wine region, having exported wine since the Middle Ages. The region is renowned for its legendary 1855 classification, which still ranks the leading châteaux today. This red wine originates from Haut-Médoc, the southern and highly prestigious part of the Médoc peninsula on Bordeaux's Left Bank. The 2001 vintage is described as elegant and acid-driven, achieving a score of 89 points. The Haut-Médoc area encompasses several famous communes, and the Left Bank is particularly known for its gravel soils.
Château Larose-Trintaudon is located in the commune of Saint-Laurent-Médoc. With a total estate of 172 hectares, including 140 hectares of vineyards, it is the largest wine estate in the Médoc. This scale is exceptionally rare in modern Bordeaux, where most prestigious châteaux typically cover between 30 and 100 hectares. The estate is classified as a Cru Bourgeois and holds an ISO 14001 certification for sustainable production. Since 1986, the château has been owned by the insurance group Allianz France, which took over from its predecessor AGF. This provides the estate with a stable institutional owner with a long investment horizon. The property is part of the Vignobles Allianz France portfolio, which also includes Château Arnauld and Château Larose-Perganson in the same area. The wine is bottled directly at the château.
The vineyards are planted with a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world's most recognized dark grapes for structured red wines, typically cultivated in regions such as Bordeaux, California, Washington, and Tuscany. It is supported by Merlot, a classic dark grape frequently grown in Bordeaux, California, Washington, and Northern Italy. Cabernet Franc completes the blend, being a classic grape commonly found in the Loire Valley, Bordeaux, and California.

Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
