Vintage taste box 4.0
Vintagevin Tasting Box 4.0 — Two reds, one white, three great wine regions
Imagine opening three bottles, where the oldest was harvested 51 years ago. That is exactly what the Vintagevin Tasting Box gives you.
We have handpicked three extraordinary wines from three of Europe's most iconic wine regions — Montalcino, Meursault and Margaux — from three different decades. This time a white wine is included, and there is a reason for that: mature white Bourgogne is some of the rarest you can get to taste.
The three wines of the box:
🇮🇹 Brunello di Montalcino Casale del Bosco 1975 Riserva — Toscana
A 51-year-old Brunello Riserva from Tenute Silvio Nardi. Silvio Nardi bought the Casale del Bosco estate in 1950 as one of the very first outsiders who saw what Montalcino could become, made his first Brunello in 1958 and helped found the Consorzio in 1967. The perspective is worth noting: in 1975 Montalcino counted around 25 producers compared to just over a hundred today, and Brunello was still DOC — the DOCG only came in 1980. Aromas of dried cherry and plum, leather, tobacco, dried flowers and forest floor with the balsamic note that great old Brunello develops. The tannins are fully integrated, and the Sangiovese acidity still keeps the wine upright.
🇫🇷 Meursault Domaine Bitouzet 1992 — Côte de Beaune, Bourgogne
The white wine of the box. The Bitouzet family settled in Volnay in 1804 and were among the very first winegrowers in Bourgogne to bottle their own wine — at a time when almost everything left Côte d'Or in barrels. Vincent Bitouzet has a reputation as a classicist: wines built for structure and longevity rather than early charm. That is exactly why it is still worth opening 34 years after the harvest. Deeply golden, almost amber-colored — that is how it should look. Baked apple, dried apricot, hazelnut, honey, beeswax and toasted bread over a flinty minerality, with the broad texture that only Meursault has.
🇫🇷 Château Prieuré-Lichine 2004 — Margaux, Bordeaux
A Quatrième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification with roots back to a Benedictine priory from the 15th century. In 1951, the estate was down to eleven hectares of neglected vines when it was bought by Alexis Lichine — born in Moscow, raised in New York and the writer who did the most to explain French wine to the English-speaking world. He gave it his name, rebuilt it parcel by parcel and died at the château in 1989. 2004 was a classic vintage with moderate alcohol, fresh acidity and real tannin. Ripe blackcurrant and dark plum, cedar, graphite and Margaux's violet perfume. The youngest and most structured wine of the box — and the one with the most future ahead of it.

you your wine
Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening to allow sediment to settle. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C and be patient – there is a great difference in how and how quickly wines open up when they are aerated.
