Burgund
Bourgogne i det østlige Frankrig blev formet af middelalderens munke, der kortlagde områdets utallige terroirer. Regionen dyrker næsten udelukkende Pinot Noir og Chardonnay og har gjort terroir til en kunstart med sit finmaskede system af climats. How it handles
you your wine
Storage
Store the bottle horizontally at 12–14°C and 70% humidity. Avoid direct sunlight, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations. A wine that has aged for 40 years deserves stable conditions until opening.
Opening
Allow the bottle to stand upright for 24–48 hours before opening, so that the sediment settles. Use a professional corkscrew and open carefully. An old cork is fragile — turn slowly. Immediately decant into a wide Burgundy carafe.
Enjoyment
Serve at 17–18°C in a large red wine glass. Decanting for at least 2 hours is recommended — vintage wines from 1985 are at their peak and will open up beautifully with time. Drink within 4–6 hours of opening.
